Maples will be on the Season 22 of “DWTS” which starts on Monday.
Marla Maples is trying to quick-step her way out of questions about her ex-husband Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
The former beauty queen says it’s nice to focus on her upcoming stint on the ABC reality competition “Dancing with the Stars” than her orange-hued ex.
“Dancing with the Stars” has given me an opportunity to really be seen in my own light,” she says in a clip from the upcoming season obtained by Us magazine.
The 52-year-old blond married Trump, 69, in 1993 after reportedly starting an affair while he was still married to his first wife, Ivana. They are parents to a 22-year-old daughter, Tiffany.
Even though she’s moved on, Trump’s presidential bid has turned Maples life upside down. She’s electing to avoid the subject.

“It’s been a crazy six months for me,” Maples explained. “I’ve had people constantly coming to me, wanting my opinion about the presidential race, and I’ve maintained a lot of privacy. But now that I’m stepping out and [going to) be a part of ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ it’s intensified even more.”
Maples will be partnered with pro Tony Dovolani on the new season of “DWTS,” which premieres Monday at 8 p.m.
